A man possesses a cat who is a champion rat-catcher and, consequently, a source of income for his master. One day the cat’s paw is caught in an otter-trap and requires amputation; but the wooden leg installed by its owner proves an even more effective weapon when it comes to rat-catching.
Notes
Notwithstanding Joe’s claim that the owner of this animal was his uncle, this story corresponds to an international tale-type, AT 1912.
