(Hence also &#8216;bobbies&#8217;.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"n\u00f3ta-bun-leathanaigh\">2. Revenue men. They weren&#8217;t popular.<\/p>\n<p class=\"n\u00f3ta-bun-leathanaigh\">3. Anglicisation of the Irish poit\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>This performance was recorded during a joint seminar with Mike Seeger at the end of February, 1978. Joe&#8217;s performance was recorded on Thursday, 24th February 1978, and the ensuing conversation and Seeger&#8217;s performance were taped the following week.<\/p>\n<p>This song was among those recorded early on in the folk music revival by the Mc&nbsp;Peakes of Belfast. Others included The Jug of Punch and The Wild Mountain Thyme.
